City Parking – Skopje, in cooperation with the Municipality of Aerodrom, has announced that paid parking will be introduced in the Novo Lisiche and Reonski Centar neighborhoods by the end of September. Until now, parking in these areas has been free, but the expansion of zoned parking is expected to reduce congestion, improve access to available spaces, and bring greater order to public areas.
The municipal administration has already completed the design of the zoned parking project and is awaiting final approval from the City of Skopje and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Once approval is granted, City Parking – Skopje will begin preparing the zones, installing official signage, and ensuring that all necessary infrastructure is in place for the system to function smoothly.
This change is welcomed by many local residents, who have long faced difficulties finding parking near their homes due to unregulated use of the spaces by vehicles from outside the neighborhoods. With the new system, residents will benefit from better availability of parking close to their residences, while overall traffic organization in the area will also improve.
Details regarding the exact boundaries of the new zones, pricing, permitted hours, and enforcement will be officially published soon. City Parking – Skopje encourages all residents and visitors to stay informed about the upcoming changes and to prepare for the introduction of this new, more efficient parking system.
